The North American Prospects Hockey League (naPHL) kicked off its inaugural season on Thursday, as all 36 teams took to the ice at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.
The event – the first of five for the NAPHL this season – is being held in conjunction with the NAHL Showcase Tournament, which annually attracts hundreds of college and NHL scouts.
Twenty teams are competing at the Midget Major (U18) level, with 16 in Midget Minor (U16). The tournament will run through Sunday, Sept. 20.
